NEW HOLSTEIN, WI (WTAQ) - Nearly two dozen head stones and monuments have been damaged at the New Holstein City Cemetery. The vandals have stuck two other times since the summer. Police are investigating this past weekend's incident that caused the most damage, around $3,000. Chief Brian Reedy says one gravestone stood between six and eight feet tall and broke apart upon impact. A majority of the stones dated back to the 1800's Reedy says they have increased patrols.
Police believe more than one person is involved, as it would have at taken at least two people to topple some of the stones.
A $300 reward is being offered.
