ASHLAND, WI (WTAQ) - Officials in Bayfield and Ashland Counties say there appears to be a slight rise in whooping cough cases.
So far their have been 6 diagnosed. All of the children are school age. They had all received the pertussis vaccination.
The bacterial infection is very contagious.
The biggest identifier is the whooping sound a sufferer makes when they're inhaling between coughs.
