GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - The public gets a final chance to sound off on the proposed 2013 Green Bay city budget Wednesday.

A public hearing is being held Wednesday at the council chambers in downtown Green Bay.

The proposal totals just over $101 million, which is near 1.3 percent increase from 2012's budget, according to city documents.

On the expenditures side of the 2013 budget proposal, Police, Fire and Public Works take up the majority of the general fund costs, roughly $24.2 million, $21.2 million and $18 million, respectively.

But out of those three departments, the Police budget is the only one seeing a decrease - by a little more than $80,000 or .8 percent.

Public Works will see an increase, up roughly $143,000 from 2012.

Fire sees the largest proposed 2013 budget increase, coming in at a little more than $1.5 million.

The city's debt service also makes up a good chunk of expenditures for the year totaling nearly $18 million. But that is actually down a little more than 9 percent from the year before.
