TOMAHAWK, WI (WSAU) -A man died of an apparent heart attack while hunting yesterday. 54-year-old Nicholas Asmondy, Sr. of Mountain, WI was found below his tree stand by his son. The son went to the woods to check on Asmondy when he failed to return on time. He called 9-1-1 for assistance at 9:36 p.m.
Lincoln County investigators believe Asmondy went into cardiac arrest and fell about 20 feet to the ground. Asmondy was hunting about 10 miles west of Tomahawk in the Town of Tomahawk near highway 86.
The death remains under investigation. Authorities do not suspect foul play.
