GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Police in Green Bay are warning folks about a "Grandparents Scam."

Police say an elderly person from Green Bay get a phone call from the suspects claiming to be a family member having problems in Mexico and need money sent to them immediately.

The would-be victim realized that it was a scam and stopped it before any money had been sent. 

Police say if you have fallen victim to this scam contact your local law enforcement agency immediately.
