President Obama returns to campaign trail in Ashwaubenon Thursday

ASHWAUBENON, WI (Metro Source/WTAQ) - President Obama says the nation is awed and humbled by nature's power in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

Campaigning at Austin Straubel International Airport in Ashwaubenon Thursday, Obama noted the resilience of the American people in rebounding from a crisis. He offered more thoughts and prayers for hurricane victims and praised the charitable spirit of Americans in times of need.

Shifting into campaign mode, the President said much has been done in the past four years to dig out of the deep recession.  He stressed that the "work goes on."

With only a few days left before election day, the President returned to the campaign trail after 3 days of overseeing the federal response to the superstorm.

Obama said Republican challenger Mitt Romney is not offering change. He argued that Romney is offering more of the same failed economic policies that preceded the recession.

Obama accused Romney of aiming to give more tax breaks to the wealthy at the expense of the struggling middle class.

The President's stop in Ashwaubenon was the first of three on Thursday, with scheduled campaign visits to Nevada and Colorado later in the day.
