Lauren Alaina got to know Steven Tyler during her time competing on American Idol , and now the Idol judge and Aerosmith frontman has pulled Lauren in to sing on his band's new album. Lauren contributed background vocals to a song called "Oh Yeah" that's expected to show up on Aerosmith's new album, Music from Another Dimension.

Lauren says, "The fact that I got to go in the studio with Aerosmith, that's fine with me. I mean, who gets to say that? Not many people."

Steven Tyler was actually in the studio with Lauren when she recorded her part for the album.  "He's really awesome, and he's a buddy of mine," Lauren says. "So, I get to say Steven Tyler's my friend. So, pretty lucky."

Aerosmith's album, Music from Another Dimension , is due out August 28, and a few reports indicate Carrie Underwood may be contributing her voice to the project too. In the meantime, Lauren is releasing her new single, "18 Inches," to radio. The song was co-written Carrie Underwood and is included on Lauren's debut album, Wildflower.
