GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Just nine months after a serious knee injury, second-year running back Alex Green is turning heads in the Packers training camp.
Green’s snaps are being limited. The Packers conducted their first practice in pads Saturday.
Third-year runner James Starks is the starter as it stands, but he has been slowed by injuries the last two years. There are still concerns about his ability to stay on the field for the whole season.
Despite that, the Pack decided not to sign Ryan Gant as a free agent in the off-season, letting him leave.
Green Bay needs a better rushing game to take some of the pressure off quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the record-setting passing attack.
