MADISON (WSAU) Major General Donald Dunbar has been appointed to a second five-year term as commander of the Wisconsin National Guard.
Dunbar was originally named to the position by former Governor Jim Doyle in 2007. Walker announced late yesterday that Dunbar has been officially reappointed. In that position, Dunbar leads the Wisconsin National Guard, oversees the state Department of Military Affairs’ Emergency Management Division and is chairman of the Governor’s Homeland Security Council.
He is the state’s 30th adjutant general.
