MINNEAPOLIS (WTAQ) - The Green Bay Packers fell behind early, and could never catch up to Adrian Peterson and the Minnesota Vikings in a 37-34 loss at the Metrodome Sunday.

It sets up a re-match next weekend at Lambeau Field, as the Packers (11-5) loss coupled with a San Francisco 49ers win, means the green and gold will get the 3rd seed in the NFC playoffs. The Vikings (10-6) earned the sixth-seed in the conference.

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson came up 9 yards shy of the all-time single-season rushing record held by Eric Dickerson. Peterson finished the game with 199 yards on 34 carries with 1 rushing touchdown and 1 receiving touchdown.

Peterson's 26-yard run with 24 seconds left set up Blair Walsh's game winning 29 yard field goal.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers finished the game 28-of-40 for 365 yards and 4 TD's. Greg Jennings caught 8 passes for 120 yards and 2 TD's.
