GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Utility crews continue to work on the pipe which broke Saturday, causing at least one million gallons of water to shoot up into the sky on Green Bay's east side.

Officials say it happened on East Main Street near Bader Street around 6:30 a.m.

The pipe that burst is one of the two major water mains that bring in water from Lake Michigan.

Green Bay Water Utility general manager Bill Nabak says crews need to prepare equipment to begin repair work on the line Sunday. Also, more water samples will be taken to figure out if it's safe for residents near the site to consume it.

Nabak tells FOX 11 if the water samples taken Saturday and Sunday come back clean, they will lift a water boil advisory that is currently in place. Click here to see a map of the entire area that is under a water boil advisory.

The intersection of East Mason and Main streets is also temporarily closed, until utility crews repair the line. Nabak says it's hard to tell how long that could be.
