MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - There were times last season when Brewers manager Ron Roenicke could have used a lefty in his bullpen.
Now, it looks like he will have two.
Though it’s not official yet, Milwaukee has reportedly come to terms with Mike Gonzalez on a deal worth $2.25 million. Another lefty, Tom Gorzelanny, was signed last week.
Gonzalez pitched in 47 games for the National League East Division champion Washington Nationals last season, compiling a 3.03 earned run average and limiting left-handed batters to a .179 batting average.
The deal won’t be official until next week because Major League Baseball offices are closed until after the New Year. The Brewers need to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Gonzalez.
