Finally returning to the Resch Center Saturday night, the Green Bay Phoenix were dissapointingly knocked off by the Southern Illinois Salukis 72-70. A couple of critical turnovers late prevented Green Bay from snapping it's losing streak, now at four. The Phoenix had a shot to force overtime but Kiefer Sykes missed from the lane at the horn. Sykes finished with a game high 22 points, Kam Cerroni added 14. Green Bay dressed only 8 players because of injury and a suspension of starting forward Brennan Cougill over a violaton of team policy. Junior center Alec Brown continued to struggle from the floor hitting only three of ten shots and finishing with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Green Bay (3-7) continues a four game homestand by hosting in-state rival Marquette on Wednesday night. It's the Golden Eagles first ever trip to Green Bay. Marquette improved to 7-2 on Saturday by beating Savannah State 71-51 at the Bradley Center.
