GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - A Green Bay man was found guilty on two counts of felony child abuse Thursday involving the death of his girlfriend’s 13-month old daughter.
A Brown County jury found 29-year-old Daniel Vega not guilty of first degree reckless homicide in the death of Lilly Maria Tebeau.
The toddler was brought in with a skull fracture and not breathing last August, where she spent the next day on life support. Vega claimed the child fell off a bed, but doctors pointed out the injuries and bruising elsewhere on her body wasn’t consistent with a fall.
Vega fled the state and was later found in Arizona.
Sentencing is October 2nd where Vega could face up to six years in prison for each county of child abuse.
