The actor, who played Chi Chi in the hit 1983 film, was detained by police in Brooklyn, New York City in the early hours of Thursday morning (19Apr12) after they saw his car swerving on the road and pulled the vehicle over.

Salazar is said to have failed a breath test, which allegedly showed high levels of alcohol in his system, and was booked on three counts of driving under the influence (DUI), according to TMZ.com.

The website reports he has been released on bail and is awaiting a court date.
