AUDIO: 911 Call Released in Tongue Biting Incident

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WTAQ) - Authorities have released audio of the 911 call made by Willard Lueders after his wife, 57-year-old Karen Lueders bit off part of his tongue.

Judge L. Edward Stengel ordered a mental evaluation for Karen Lueders, who's currently being held in the county jail after her initial court appearance Monday.

EMT's were able to recover the severed portion of the 79-year-old's tongue and it was taken along with Lueders to Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee.

A hospital spokesperson says Lueders remains hospitalized in satisfactory condition, but could not say if efforts to reattach the tongue were successful.
