A Pasco, FL middle school kid made the honor roll even though he had a “C” and a “D” in some of his classes.
His mom assumed it was a mistake when she got her son’s report card and it had a hand written note with it that said, “good job.”
The Principal said the note was encouragement and was something teachers at her school had been doing since the ‘90’s.
She said making the honor roll is based on a points system where acquiring enough points for As can easily offset Cs, Ds, and even F's.
After complaints, school leaders are now looking at changing the requirements for making the honor roll.
