Did Toby Keith do the right thing?

by Randy Allen

As you may know, Toby Keith has a chain of restaurants called "I Love this Bar & Grill".  What you may not know is that there is trouble brewing at the one he most recently opened in North Virginia. By putting a "No Guns Permitted" sign on the door, the restaurant has angered some of their patrons.

In Virginia, people can openly carry weapons (unlike state's like Wisconsin's concealed carry), but much like here in Wisconsin individual businesses can decide to allow weapons or not. Especially with Toby's music and fan base, you can see where this might cause a stink and it has.  In response to the complaints, the restaurant posted the following on their Facebook page:

"While we understand and respect every person's right to own and bear arms, we at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill, with guidance from the State of Virginia and based on insurance regulations, have adopted a no weapons policy. It is our desire to provide a safe, enjoyable and entertaining experience for our patrons and staff."

Reaction has been mixed.  What do you think?
