This waitress went above and beyond her duty to thank some American soldiers that were hungry and looking for a good meal! A generous waitress paid the bill of two soldiers who sat down for their lunch break at a restaurant in New Hampshire.
The 21-year-old waitress was working her shift at Ruby Tuesday when the National Guard soldiers explained that they were looking for something inexpensive because they were working without pay during the shutdown.
When it came time to bring them their $30 bill, the waitress decided to pay for the lunch out of her own pocket.
Instead of their bill, the soldiers received a note that read: 'Thanks to the government shutdown, the people like you that protect this country are not getting paid. However, I still am. Lunch is on me. Thank you for serving ladies! Have a good day!"'
The waitress, who is also a single mother, is surprised her small act of kindness has generated so much interest. She said, 'Just seeing the reaction on their face was totally worth it.'
