The fastest way to a mans heart is his what?
A woman in Washington State helped find the right match for her deceased brother's donated heart, then fell in love with the transplant recipient!
When the woman's brother died in 2005, his family decided to donate his organs to help others in need. Along with her mother, they started working to find the right match for his heart.
Across the country in Minnesota, a 17-year-old boy had been diagnosed with a genetic disorder that caused his organs to become enlarged and weakened. Without a heart transplant, he wouldn’t survive. The woman and her mom found him and chose him to get the heart.
After surgery, the man's plan was to write a letter to his donor's family, hoping they could meet. So he and his mother went to see them and that's when he first met his eventual love.
He continued to visit the family over the next four years. The two became close, and during that time, became an official couple.
After graduating last year, he moved to Seattle to be with her and they spent their first Valentine's Day together this year.
