Can You Find Wisconsin On A Map? Can ESPN?
It's been a great year for the state of Wisconsin. The Brewers went deep into the playoffs behind the MVP bat of Ryan Braun. The Packers haven't lost since 2010. Wisconsin hockey is ranked No. 1 in the nation. And yet the Badger State can't get any respect.
As the all-seeing CNBC sports business reporter Darren Rovell shows in one of his tweets, ESPN's SportsCenter did a report on Braun and Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in front of an artist's rendering of ... Minnesota.
ESPN was close geographically, yes. But Pittsburgh and Cleveland are also close -- geographically. Wisconsin fans will point out the Vikings are doormats and the Twins are also-rans. Minnesota fans, meanwhile, will note their state's dominance in ... WNBA hoops!
Hey, we all make mistakes. How many of us can correctly identify all 50 states on a map? (Well, probably quite a few of us.) But if you're going to get Wisconsin wrong, at least err on the Michigan side. The Upper Peninsula is full of Packers fans, anyway.
