Because the Packers meet the Vikings for a third time in a five week span this Saturday night in the NFC Wild Card round at Lambeau Field, the team had to work on New Year's Day and another full practice took place out in the cold today.  Mike McCarthy hopes to work in the elements all week leading up to the 7:00 PM kickoff where temperatures are expected to be in the teens and cool even more.  The first injury report for the playoff game was released after practice and the only player being ruled out is rookie defensive lineman Jerel Worthy who suffered a significant knee injury in the Metrodome, he had to be carted off the field in the second half.  Worthy was placed on Injured Reserve today.  Charles Woodson has been cleared to play and will see his first action since October 21.  Receiver Jarrett Boykin didn't practice with an ankle injury suffered on his one and only catch last week, a huge 4th down grab.  It's unlikely he'll be ready but the rest of the receiving corps may be together for the first time since September.  Jordy Nelson practiced on a limited basis after he hurt his knee last week.  Nelson actually came back in after the injury to catch the touchdown pass that tied the game at 34.  Randall Cobb's ankle also had him limited but Cobb told me Tuesday he expects to go.  Jermichael Finley was also limited with a quadricep bruise.  James Starks, coming back from a knee injury suffered in the first Minnesota game, was also limited as was Davon House with a hip injury.  Alex Green with a sore knee was a full participant.

There's certainly an eagerness among the players to get one more and hopefully final shot at the Vikings.  They obviously weren't happy with the performance against Adrian Peterson but nearly all of the defenders felt the effort was there, just not the execution. As you'll hear on the link below, the guys are getting pretty tired of answering AP questions for the second week in a row, but they are warranted after he piled up 409 yards rushing in the two games so far.  You'll also hear some offensive players who are very upbeat about the numbers put up last week as the second ever playoff meeting between the border rivals draws ever closer.
