Packer camps set, more draft preview

Posted by Mark Daniels on

The Packers camp calendar is set.  The team announced it will hold it's rookie orientation camp May 11-13.  Those workouts will not be open to the public.   The organized team activities will start on May 22.   That practice will be open for fans to watch, along with workouts on May 30 and June 5.  The Pack's mandatory mini-camp is set for June 12-14 and as for training camp, a bit earlier than past years.  Players will report to St. Norbert College on Wednesday, July 25 and practice for the first time the following day.  The annual stockholder's meeting will also be moved up.  Traditionally it's held on the final Thursday of the month but will now take place in Lambeau Field on Tuesday, July 24.  One other change for this summer's camp will be a noticeable reduction in the number of evening practices on Ray Nitschke's lighted field. Mike McCarthy will conduct most of his workouts in the afternoon summer heat.

We're just a day away from the NFL draft and here's the latest installment of our draft preview series, sponsored by Nicolet Bank, covering a high priority position for the Pack, the defensive line.
