So far this week, the Packers have taken care of the ancilliary details, flight and hotel arrangements for family members, tickets and the like. The coaching staff and players spent Wednesday breaking down film like they'd do on a normal Monday. The off-week practices actually begin Friday through Sunday with an abbreviated travel day bound for Dallas on Monday.
Can't be a Super Bowl without a controversy and there was a little dust up over the team Super Bowl photograph. It was originally scheduled to be shot on Tuesday at Cowboys Stadium as part of the media day madness. With most of the 15 players on injured reserve still doing rehab work either back in Green Bay or at home, they weren't secheduled to arrive in Dallas until later in the week. When Nick Barnett and Jermichael Finley got their thumbs busy and tweeted their disappointment over not being included. What, we're not part of the team now? The Packers exascerbated the problem by issuing a PR statement saying the high number of IR players would cause issues for the pose and many weren't going to be there anyway. Nice try. The tempest in the teapot was resolved when Mike McCarthy met with his captains and they got the photo shoot rescheduled while in Dallas. Here's McCarthy's explanation of how Photo-Gate went down.
