The Packers activated running back James Starks off the PUP list Tuesday, making room on the roster by waiving linebacker Robert Francois. It's been a long haul for Green Bay's 6th round draft choice. As a junior at the University of Buffalo, Starks ran for 1333 yards with 16 touchdowns but blew out his shoulder and missed his entire senior season. When he arrived in town, Starks severely pulled his hamstring during the OTA's and got hurt again in training camp. After spending 6 weeks on the PUP list, Starks returned to practice and appeared a likely candidate for injured reserve but the Packers will give him a look over the final 7 games of the season. The team also released safety Michael Greco from the practice squad creating an opening there, possibly for Francois to return. Al Harris cleared NFL waivers and is now a free agent. Jack Bechta, Harris' agent, says several teams have inquired about his services and while he wouldn't disclose which teams, there are reports guess who is interested, the Minnesota Vikings. With the team on it's bye week, I'm taking a weekend hiatus so the Packers blog will go quiet for a couple of days, While the players are away this week, the coaches are busy conducting a thorough self scout from the first 9 weeks and you can hear what each coordinator's focus will be on the break by clicking the link below.
