Veteran tackle Chad Clifton showed up on the Wednesday injury report with sore knees, nothing unusual about that. He's played very well all season despite very little practice time on a pair of knees that are wearing out after a decade in the trenches. Clifton took part in limited drills today not only because of the knees, but because he experienced concussion like symptons from the San Francisco game. Head Coach Mike McCarthy said Clifton was fine Sunday but reported problems on Monday. The team will take it easy with him but expects Clifton to play in Detroit. On the defensive line, Cullen Jenkins has been ruled out of the Lions game because he re-aggravated that calf strain against the Niners. Second year pro Jarius Wynn and rookie C.J. Wilson will battle it out at practice this week for Jenkins' snaps. Wilson has been active more often than Wynn but McCarthy said today Wynn has been practicing very well the past month. The rest of the initial injury report looked like this....Atari Bigby (hamstring) did not practice, Anthony Smith (ankle) was also a DNP. Korey Hall with a knee injury is also being ruled out for Sunday. Limited in practice were Ryan Pickett (ankle), Charles Woodson (toe and ankle), Clay Matthews (shin) and Nick Collins (shoulder). Donald Driver with a hand injury and Brett Swain with a knee bruise were full participants.
Aaron Rodgers was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week today for his 20 of 31, 298 yard and 3 touchdown performance against the 49ers. Rodgers' passer rating of 135.1 was the second highest of the season and his fourth straight game over 110. Rodgers was the FedEx Air player of the week for his game against the Vikings in the Metrodome earlier this season. For the year, Rodgers ranks 4th in the league with a passer rating just over 100 and even better, for his starting career, Rodgers is now the highest rated passer in NFL history. His rating of 98.0 has eclipsed Phillip Rivers of San Diego (97.0). Steve Young is third on the list, followed by Tony Romo and Tom Brady.
