A Spaniard who had one of the world's first face transplants has finally shown his new face in public. He came out yesterday to thank the donor and the surgeons who operated on him.
The 34-year-old was the third person in Spain and the tenth in the world to receive a partial face transplant.
The guy had a rare disease that left a series of tumors on his face. Those tumors disfigured him.
He ended up getting the 30-hour transplant operation and donor tissue now makes up the lower two-thirds of his face.
