Carrie Underwood and hockey player Mike Fisher got married Saturday at the Reynold Plantation resort in Greensboro, Georgia.
The wedding took place under a tent before 250 guests.
Carrie paid for 250 rooms for guests. Roads were cut off. Police kept people away. Everyone in town connected to the wedding had to sign confidentiality agreements.
The wedding was covered by only one media outlet: People magazine. Rumor has it the mag paid $2 million to get coverage dibs. The fee definitely covered the cost of the wedding, which was about $500,000.
Carrie wore a Chantilly lace dress and the ceremony featured classical music and the couple's favorite Bible readings.
Guests at the wedding included Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.
A statement from Carrie and Mike said: "We could not feel more blessed to have found each other and to have shared this day with our friends and family that mean so much to us!"
