So...I'm a huge Bon Jovi fan...saw them live three times and was even pointed out in the crowd and was sung to while Jon held my hand (sigh)..but I'm not at all surprised that he turned down offers to be on reality TV.

Jon Bon Jovi says he turned down a chance to appear as a judge "The X Factor" and "American Idol" last year because he was too busy.

He also admitted he has a lot of sympathy for the contestants on TV talent shows because of the risk they take with their careers.

Jon said: "I had 23 years to write my first record. I was able to develop a career in bars, I would never have won any of those contests. You see them there and they can hit the high note and then a year later they're a trivia question. It's a big ask of these kids."

As for turning down the judge jobs, Bon Jovi said: "I was offered all of talent shows last year but it's not for me because I have a job and we're busy."
