If you're a mom who handles all of your family's finances, you're not alone. A study by Working Mother Magazine reveals that 59 percent of working mothers serve as their family's sole chief financial officer. Whereas controlling the household's money was once considered a man's job, only 11 percent of the mothers surveyed said their husbands take care of finances, while 30 percent said it's a joint effort.
Other findings from the Working Mother Magazine study:
-76 percent of mothers believe their household finances are managed successfully
- 61 percent would rather get a 20 percent raise than a year off from work
-25 percent wish they didn't have to work at all
-55 percent say they work because they're career-oriented; not just to earn money
-79 percent are confident they'll be more financially well-off in 2013
-29 percent say it's important to be a better mother, while 2 percent say it's important to be a better employee
-55 percent say balancing work and family is their most challenging task
-56 percent say their top financial objective in 2013 is to save more money
-Asked for their career goals, 23 percent of the mothers said getting a raise; 16 percent said getting a better job; and 13 percent said getting a promotion
