My boyfriend and I have been dating  for 14 months. Recently, I caught him texting suggestive messages to his ex-girlfriend. He got angry and said the texts were a joke, that they didn't mean anything and  that I should lighten up. He  says they are just friends and that there is nothing wrong with exes being friends  and exchanging flirtatious emails and texts. Is  it cheating if two exes send suggestive messages to one another while one of  them is in a committed relationship? Do I need to lighten up?

NO!!! YOU DON'T NEED TO LIGHTEN UP!!! I totally agree...I love it when exes can be friends....however...when a new significant other is in the picture, the flirting needs to stop! That is so disrespectful to you! They can talk and be friends...but the suggestive part needs to stop. If he refuses....you may want to start looking for a guy who is going to treat you like the princess I'm sure you are ;)
