Dear Abby,

I have a 19-year-old living at home and she has a 5 month old baby. She takes no resonsibility for anything, including her daughter. I feel more like the mother than I'm sure she does. What is she thinking? I know you're around that age, how should I approach this?

Dear Dismayed Mother,

Sounds like your daughter hasn't realized that she has another life that she is responsible for now. I think that you should just be a little harder on her. Don't be willing to babysit anymore, don't do the responsibilities that she is supposed to be doing. I think that is the only way she'll learn. Good luck with everything and remember, the baby didn't ask to be here...so don't let her be punished for other people's mistakes.
