Dear Abby,
My life is a movie at the moment...my best friend and I fell in love with the same guy...and we are hating each other right now. Neither one of us has been officially dating the guy, but through our friendship with him, we both fell for him and both told him how we feel. He told us both the same story that he has feelings for both of us and doesn't want to ruin any friendships. I feel that I'd be ok without my friend because she knows my past dating situations and that this guy would be great for me, but I think she's being selfish. I want him over her, but I don't think he'll date me because he thinks that he is the reason me and my friend aren't friends anymore...What do you think?

Dear Broken,
Wow, tough one...feelings certainly get in the way of everything don't they?! Here's the deal though...this guy said he has feelings for both of you...don't you want a guy who only has eyes for you? And the fact that he won't chose shows that these feelings aren't intense enough to make a move on. If it is true mutual love, you both know it. And what about your friend? You mentioned that you had a bad dating history, but what about her? I'm only 21 and I know that no one really has a great dating history, that's why none of those past relationships worked out. Stick with your friend....guys come and go, but friends stay forever. You both need to obviously work on your friendship because you both were willing to throw it away over a guy who is too chicken to make a move on either of you. If your feelings are very strong for the guy, and you can't move on that easily, tell him to make a decision or move, from there go with your heart, but my advise would be to hang on to your best friend...she was your best friend for a reason, remember?
