I have been married to my wife for 5 years now. I'm not big on romance but I would really like to get her something special for our anniversary Jan 3. I know it's short notice but I would really like to surprise her. Do you have any ideas? Also what is the common anniversary gift at the 5 year mark?

I don't know that there is a common gift for the 5-year mark, but that doesn't mean you can't make it special! Not a lot of guys are big on romance, so you are not alone...but remember, this is the love of your life.  She promised you her life, so you can probably get her something nice.  It is hard to give suggestions because every woman is different. It might be hard to believe, but I know women who do not want DIAMONDS!!!!!!!!! (sorry, just kind of in shock) for any occasion...I am not in that category ;) But just think, what does your wife like? What are her interests? Does she need anything or want anything that she would never buy herself because even though she wants it she doesn't want to buy it for herself? Maybe you two should get away on a vacation or something...a warm vacation during a Wisconsin winter???? Who would say no to that?! Good luck!!
