Dear Abby,
As 2010 approaches and I get another year older, I feel like I'm not in touch with
people like others are. I don't go out very much, I don't really like a lot of what's
currently on TV, and my tastes in music are almost completely different from
all of my friends...and I don't hear much from them lately either.
Do you have any thoughts or suggestions as to what I should do to
cure my seasonal depression? Thanks for letting me vent.
Have a good holiday.
Bummed In GB
Dear Bummed,
The holidays are tough for a lot of people, me included. Not everyone feels the joy and warmth of the holidays, but that doesn't mean you're bummed. You just need to find something different that makes you happy! Forget TV, we need to get social!!!! If you're not in touch with your friends anymore, it's time to get new ones! Seriously! Join a social circle that maybe enjoys your music taste too! Don't do the bar scene, check local web sites and newspapers for interesting things that are going on in your community and try them out. You never know who you're going to meet! Don't let the holidays get you down, that is not what they're meant for, instead, turn it into a reason to change your current situation and enjoy the holidays. Merry Christmas Bummed. I wish you the best :)
