It's hot--cool off with this desert!

I am not sure where the original recipe for this came from, but it's delicious!!  I have made two versions of the "Ice Cream Sandwich Cake" the last two weeks.  It's hot, so make this and cool off!

Ice Cream Sandwich Cake:
24 (2 boxes) of ice cream sandwiches
16 oz tub of Cool Whip
Caramel Sundae Sauce
Candy of your choosing--I used Reese's Mini.

Lay down the first box ice cream sandwiches in the bottom of a 9x13 pan.  Once you have done this, place half of the Cool Whip on top and spread evenly.  Top this with your caramel sauce and half the candies.  On top of these, you will repeat the process: ice cream sandwiches, cool whip, sundae sauce and candies.  The top layer of cool whip should have an embankment on it so that the caramel doesn't drip off the top.

Then, cut up and enjoy!

This weekend I made a mint version, and it was AMAZING!  Just use Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream sandwiches, chocolate sauce and mini chocolate chips.
