A 96-year-old Wisconsin woman who has owned her grocery store for 50 years refused to give cash to a robber, telling him he could fill his pockets with candy, but he better leave her cash register alone.
When the masked man came into her store and demanded cash, she said, “I’m not opening up that cash register and that’s it. ‘I’m not opening it.”
She added, “You can have all the Tootsie Rolls you want but I am not opening that cash register.”
The would-be robber then spotted a security camera and took off running with his knife.
It’s unclear if he took the owner up on her Tootsie Roll offer, but police are still looking for him.
