Packers Kickoff Koncert Konfirmed... Yeauuhhh Buddy! Posted August 30, 2011 by Chance Lewis

Green Bay and the Packers will kick off a weekend of celebrating the return of football with a mix of musical performers and a “championship moment” that’ll be punctuated by the traditional season-opening fireworks display.

“Our theme is ‘Back to Football.’ We used it last year but we brought it back this year. We think it’s very apropos. We’re very excited about being in Green Bay, with a storied franchise and at Lambeau Field,” Lawrence Randall said.

Randall is the NFL’s director of “Kickoff Weekend” festivities, which will begin on Thursday, Sept. 8, for the Packers-Saints game at Lambeau Field. A special 9-11 tribute is planned for the games on Sunday, Sept. 11.

Thursday’s league opener will pit the last two Super Bowl champions, and Randall is especially pleased by that matchup.

“Like every fan, we sit on the edge of our seat in anticipation,” he said.

Randall’s seat, of course, has an extra sharp edge to it, since he’s the guy who’s put the whole show together. It’s a show that’ll feature musicians Kid Rock, Maroon 5 and Lady Antebellum.

“We try to bring in the best acts we can. The NFL has such a diverse audience. Kid Rock is for rock, Maroon 5 is pop and Lady Antebellum is country. Kid Rock, we know, is close to the Packers. He played at the Packers’ party after the Super Bowl,” Randall said.

“They’ll perform adjacent to Lambeau Field. We’re setting our big stage up at Oneida St. Green Bay will get their moment in the national spotlight.”

The crowning moment of the night’s festivities will be its “Championship Moment Celebration.”

“It’s become a tradition for the kickoff game. It’s recognition of the team and its fans,” he said.

Fireworks will then light the skies above Lambeau Field, and then Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees will do the same in what is expected to be one of the premier passing exhibitions of the 2011 season.

Event festivities open to the public at 3:15 p.m. CT. Fans may enter the concert site from Holmgren Way and may view the performances along Armed Forces Dr. The concert is free; there are no tickets for it.

The concert begins at 5:30 p.m. CT and is expected to conclude by 6:30 p.m. Kickoff for the game is set for 7:30 p.m.

Fans not planning to attend the game may register at www.1iota.com to have a chance to be part of the casted audience for a live TV segment leading into the kickoff to the game.

What's Blasting In My Car... Posted August 12, 2011 by Chance Lewis

Now I don't think I've ever done this but I just feel like I need to share something with you that a good friend of mine shared with me a few weeks back... It was after a local outdoor gathering and a bunch of us went over to his pad to hang out after... and the iPod came out.  He said "I need you to hear this band..."

And that's how I was hooked on The Casey Donahew Band... Can't stop cranking the 4 songs I have.

Just thought I wanted to pass along the band to you, my friend.  Let me know what you think of them.  Comment below, or shoot and email chance.lewis@mwcradio.com

Look What I caught Charli Doing Yesterday... Posted July 29, 2011 by Chance Lewis

After we talked about cleanliness on the morning show, she walked into our kitchen and threw a fit how dirty the fridge was.  So she emptied it and cleaned it... My question to Ryan is, has she ever done this at home?  LOL!

Country Stars Share Healthy Comfort Food Recipes with ‘Self’ Magazine Posted July 7, 2011 by Chance Lewis

Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Sara Evans, and Sheryl Crow recently shared their healthy comfort food recipes with Self magazine.

Like many of us, Underwood’s go-to comfort food is pizza. ”I love pizza,” she admits. “But, obviously, pizza isn’t always the healthiest choice in the world. So I make it my own way.” Underwood’s ‘no-guilt veggie pizza’ is easy to make check out the recipe HERE.

Evans shares a family recipe for honey-beer ham. ”My mother has made this ham for years at every holiday and for many Sunday dinners,” Evans says. “It’s so easy and the most delicious thing you’ll ever taste!”

For those of us with a sweet tooth, Lambert offers up a recipe for raspberry-lemon bread. ”This bread is perfect for taking on the road. It’s great as a breakfast treat, midday snack or dessert.” Click HERE for the recipe.

“Supper on the road is a time for fellowship, which, for all of the band, is as important as the actual gig,” Crow says. She shares her roasted-potato salad with sweet corn and cider vinegar recipe.

‘Men’s Health’ Names Kenny Chesney ‘Fittest Man in Country Music’ Posted July 6, 2011 by Chance Lewis

But, I assume that's becasue they haven't seen me... Next year...

Four-time CMA Entertainer of the Year Kenny Chesney has been named the “Fittest Man in Country Music” by Men’s Health. Chesney and his personal trainer, Daniel Meng owner of MUV Fitness Coaching in Nashville, recently sat down with the magazine to share his workout routine as well as diet and fitness tips.

Chesney always makes time to workout. Even when he’s out on the road.

“You’d be amazed at what you can do in a short amount of time to get a burn in, to feel healthier, to feel like you’re not staying the same,” says Kenny, who can do 300 pushups in 10 minutes.

The superstar actually credits his high-energy live shows for pushing him to maintain a healthy physical physique.

“I have to train to do my show the way I want to do it,” he says. “I’m not one of these guys that just stands there behind the microphone. I work really hard to give the fans the best possible concert.”

A healthy diet also plays a huge role in Chesney’s fitness routine. He admits he had to make a big change in his diet to get to where he is now.

“I grew up with a family where everything revolved around food. I love to eat,” he says. “But I’m very conscious of what I put in my body now.”

Chesney starts each day off with a healthy breakfast that includes “scrambled egg whites, grilled chicken, sliced tomatoes, and a whole-wheat bagel.” Sundays are always Chesney’s cheat day. ”I eat whatever I want,” he says. “If I want a chocolate-covered double cheeseburger, I’ll eat it.”

Blake Shelton Calls Miranda Lambert His “Rock” Posted June 30, 2011 by Chance Lewis

In the latest issue of Us Weekly, on newsstands now, Blake Shelton opens up about how Miranda Lambert helped save him from his wild and crazy partying ways.

“I was a single male country singer raising hell, going out after concerts to bars and drinking and doing whatever I wanted,” Blake recalls. “And why the hell not? I wouldn’t take it back, either.”

Now that he’s settled down with Miranda he jokes, “Man, I don’t know where in the hell I got the energy! I’m getting old now, and my hair’s going gray.”

Blake credits Miranda for helping him ”grow into a normal, adult routine” saying, “I grew tried of going out drinking until 7 a.m. and then waking up at noon and eating pizza. Now if I want to go drinking, I only want to sit at the house with Miranda watching ‘Snapped’ on TV at home.”

“It’s crazy because even if I’m just out on her bus while she’s on the road or watching her do her shows, I’m 100 percent comfortable because she is there,” Shelton adds. “She really is that rock for me and the center of all of this.”

For more on Blake’s exclusive interview with US Weekly, pick up the latest issue. Inside, he opens up about how his 2006 divorce affected his new marriage, when they plan to start a family, and how Miranda learned to brush off rumors.
