10 Ways To Tell Someone You Like Them (Without Just Telling Them) Posted February 20, 2012 by Bear

10 Ways To Tell Someone You Like Them (Without Just Telling Them)

1. Touch your face and hair when you’re talking to them.

2. Touch them, casually, on the arm or knee when you’re talking to them.

3. Laugh at their jokes.

4. Touch their arm or knee when you laugh at their jokes.

5. Notice when their glass is empty, and always offer to fill it up or get them another.

6. Make eye contact from across the room at parties; smile.

7. If you get an inside joke going between just the two of you, bring it up as much as possible. Never let it die.

8. Say their name when you’re talking to them. (It’s true! People thrill at the sound of their own name — especially when uttered by someone they’re interested in.)

9. Find a common enemy: another party guest, an annoying guy at the bar, a broken jukebox, the lack of pizza joints in this part of town. It’s you two against the world.

10. If they mention an ex, or a date gone bad, tell them that they’re too good for that person, anyway.

Why Is Your Dog Better Than Your Boyfriend? Posted February 15, 2012 by Bear

Top 10 Reasons Dogs Are Better Than Boyfriends from petMD.com

1.Dogs Never Cheat: They don't call dogs (wo)man's best friend for nothing. You'll never come home to find them canoodling with somebody else. Instead, they'll be waiting patiently for your return, tail wagging.

2.Dogs Don't Care if You Put on a Few Pounds: Hey, the more you weigh, the more of you there is to cuddle with. Bringing us to our next point ...

3.They Love to Cuddle: When was the last time a boyfriend just wanted to spend the evening cuddling? Plus, dogs are cool with public displays of affection. That's right, your dog is always happy to publicly show others how much he loves you.

4.The Later You Are, The MORE Excited Your Dog is to See You: Dogs are always happy to see you. But even better, the later you are, the MORE happy they are to see you. Have you ever come home to a boyfriend saying, "You were supposed to be home hours ago. Gosh, I am so happy to see you!" Nope, didn't think so.

5.Dogs Never Come Home Drunk: Dogs and alcohol don't mix, so they won't go out boozing with the guys until all hours of the night. And they don't get mad when you come home a little tipsy after drinks with the girls. In fact, they probably find you entertaining.

6.Dogs Aren't Threatened If You Earn More: In fact, they kind of expect you to, how else are you going to afford all their kibble?

7.They Feel Guilty When They Do Something Wrong: Everyone with a dog has come home at some time or another to an expression of guilt on their pup's face. Boyfriends are much more adept at covering their tracks when they do something wrong.

8.They Love When Your Friends Come Over: Want to have your friends over for a reality television marathon and gossip session? Most boyfriends would complain, but your dog will see it as an opportunity for more attention!

9.They Never Complain About Your Cooking: Your dog will happily chow down on whatever food it is you decide to give them. Whether it be dry, wet, store-bought, or home-cooked – dogs will inhale it like it's the best meal ever created.

10.You Can Train a Dog: Boyfriends come already ingrained with their own habits, like leaving the toilet seat up or peeing on the seat. And when you voice complaints, they tell you you're just supposed to love them for who they are – the good and the bad. But you can house train dogs. You can train them to stay off the couch or not to whine, and they'll just be happy they're pleasing you!

15 Ways To Avoid Valentine's Day Posted February 8, 2012 by Bear

15 Ways To Avoid Valentine’s Day This Year

If you are a single on Valentine’s Day—you basically have two options. You can embrace the day and make it your own. Or you can boycott. If you choose the latter, it might not be as hard as you think.

1.It’s winter, so take the opportunity to hibernate. Stay home alone all day and night on Valentine’s Day.

2.Set your computer and phone date to February 15, as if the big day never even happened. If you have a page-a-day calendar, flip that sucker forward too.

3.Steer clear of Hallmarks and the chocolate heart filled aisles at the drug store.

4.Go to see a slasher movie. Trust, this is not the movie selection couples will be making.

5.Do your taxes. Hey, you need to file them sometime.

6.Don’t email back when friends ask you what you are up to for V-Day. Ignore, ignore, ignore.

7.Or let your friends in on the game and make a pact not to discuss the holiday at hand.

8.Do not go out to dinner, in the name of all things holy. If you do want to go out, think fast food or buffets—places couples will not be.

9.Pick another holiday to celebrate, like your half-birthday or something an throw an unrelated party that evening.

10.Don’t watch TV, unless it is shows you have already DVR'd from the week before. In other words, not the Valentine’s Day episodes.

11.Spend the day/night with someone who is too old or too young to care what day it is, like your infirm grandma or your nieces and nephews.

12.Avoid Facebook. Or unfriend everyone in a relationship. Although that might be extreme.

13.Go to the gym. Hey, it’ll be couple free and you won’t have to wait for the treadmill.

14.On February 13th, do a symbolic burning of Valentine’s paraphernalia. Consider it a cleansing.

15.Make the day into a historical reenactment of 300 A.D., before the holiday existed.

Goodbye Mexico - Visit our Photos for Chance to Win Concert Tickets Posted February 3, 2012 by Bear

It's our last night in Mexico and we hate to say goodbye, but will enjoy getting back... Just keep the warm weather going for us back home.  We had a great group of listeners joining us every morning, rain, wind or shine.  The poppers were a hit as usual.  We visited Tulum, had a pedicure, saw some interesting creatures in the lagoon and got some relaxation in.  It rained more than usual but that didn't stop us from enjoying our vacation.  The biggest decision I have yet today is which restaurant to eat at for our final dinner.

If you'd like to see photos of our listeners enjoying themselves in Mexico check out some of our photos in the Great Escape gallery and find the tropical word of each day to make a phrase.  Enter it here and we'll be drawing a winner on Monday, February 6 for a pair of tickets to The Brothers in the Sun Tour with Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw in Chicago.

Want to see more? Katy is posting hundreds more photos here. We hope to see you next year on Great Escape 2013... wherever we go and take over for the week!

Pedicure in Mexico Posted January 31, 2012 by Bear

Well I did it!  Bridget talked me into it and as promised, here's a picture of my pedicure in Mexico.  The $1500 resort credit at the Aventura Spa Palace has been great... our Y100 listeners are getting pampered and everything is fantastic down in Mexico.  I even saw Jason Michael Carroll and Phil Vassar hitting up the pool with everyone yesterday.  The Phil concert was just excellent last night... what a great show.  Watch for concert photos from all three artists tomorrow in our photo gallery.  We'll post them after our show tonight with Neal McCoy and Jason. It doesn't get any better than this.
